What is a Capital Campaign?
A capital campaign is a biblically-driven process that includes a three-year commitment on the part of its congregation. It is a wonderful time of spiritual growth and faith building as members of our church come together to invest in the future of the church.
Twelve years have passed since we completed back-to-back campaigns to acquire the land and build our current facility. It is time for North River Community Church to take the next major growth step. Our church leaders are looking forward to your prayers and participation in this next step that we are calling “Vision 2020.”
What is included in this campaign?
We have identified five key projects for this campaign including the following:
(in order of priority)
- Funding the Executive Pastor Role /Operations Budget $300,000
- Next Gen Staff Position $35,000
- Debt Reduction $250,000
- Rapid Response Trailer $15,000
- Activity Center $200,000
How much will we raise?
The goal of the campaign is to raise $800,000 over the next three years.
Will I be pressured to make a commitment?
No. Participation in the campaign and how much you contribute financially will be entirely up to you. All members are encouraged to pray for guidance from God on this decision-making process.
How long will my commitment be?
Our campaign will last for three years and will end in 2020.
If I can’t give a large amount, does my commitment matter?
Absolutely! All contributions matter, regardless of the amount. Every gift, when coming from the heart, will impact our goal and mission.
When are we expected to give the amount committed?
Commitment cards will be turned in on Commitment Sunday, May 7, 2017. Our first fruits demonstration of our commitments will be on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Contributions can be made by cash, credit card or check. Please indicate “Vision 2020” on your payment and/or write on the envelope included in Sunday’s bulletin. Payments can be mailed, processed online and through our myNorthRiver App. Other gifts may include the transfer of title of marketable stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.
Do I have to be a member to participate in the campaign?
No. Your participation is a personal decision. Anyone can contribute to God’s work at North River.
What is a commitment card?
A commitment card helps North River understand what kinds of gifts to expect and when to expect them. By completing this card, you allow us to move forward with a thoughtful, financial plan.
What if my circumstances change after I have made a commitment?
A commitment card is a statement of intent, not a contract. If your financial circumstances change significantly, you may change your commitment at any time. Simply contact the church to adjust your commitment.
